Update to original 3 star review below: The vendor responded to my review and offered a full refund or a replacement. They also listened to my advice and posted some helpful video that goes beyond the instruction manual. Now that is customer service. I liked the clock so chose a replacement and this unit was MUCH more responsive to the remote. I sailed through the setup although some of that was learning curve after working with the first one, as well as the videos. I think a few more videos (they are very short), would not hurt related to feature options and what they do. In any event, I like the clock and feel the company will support you if you run into difficulty. That support moved me to five stars.Almost embarrassed to say how long it took me to get this clock set up properly but now that it is, I do not regret getting it. There are a ton of similar clocks on Amazon and this one only had a few reviews but all were highly rated. I chose it for an option I didn’t see on many others which was its weather information included wind speed (provided via internet connection, not an accessory device you need to put outside). If you deal with snow in the winter, knowing if there is going to be drifting was important to me. Anyhow, it has all sorts of functions for elderly people who need medication alarms, details that it is morning, bigger characters, etc. I bought it for none of that but will tell you, no somewhat mentally deficient older person will get this clock set up on their own (IMO). Instructions provided are bare minimum and I think the company should strongly consider putting out a You Tube video showing each function and how to use it in detail. That would be a game changer for customers. For me it was all trial and error. The remote is very small and is just too cheaply made. I found I was pushing the buttons for the menu or exit or to confirm, multiple times (still am). I actually replaced what looked to be a good battery in the remote and the replacement made no difference. You have to have just the right pressure on the pad at the right spot to get it to work right and I am talking about being a few feet from the clock, not across the room. I also used the buttons on the back of the clock as well and they were not great either. So my 3 stars is because of all of the above. I like the many options and formats for the display. Connecting to the internet was easy. The screen is nice size and graphics are excellent. Really like the ability to dial down brightness at night to virtually any setting you want. Daytime lighting can be set separately. So better instructions and a better remote would make this 5 stars for me. I have now had the clock about a month and still need to press the remote button multiple times to turn off alarm. But beyond that, still like it enough not to return it.
